| Since we can all agree that Link to the Past is awesome (if you disagree, get out), I'm seriously surprised that this game gets no love. I've played through it several times and it remains fun. All new dungeons, slightly altered overworld, and unique real-time based gameplay, this is truly the lost gem of Zelda. Hell, even Wand of Gamelon gets more attention that this! This game is my second favorite Zelda game. I made a topic about this on the old forums, but at the time, the ROMs had no music. The current patches make this game emulate almost perfectly. For those not in the know, this game was originally playable on the Satellaview for the Super Nintendo. It obviously was only released in Japan. The only way this game is playable now is via emulation. Even if you still have the original program saved to a memory card, it won't run. So in this case, ROMs are okay! Aside from the live voice acting that accompanied the original broadcast, the game emulates near perfectly and has been translated into full English. So seriously, has anybody played this besides me? If not, here are some cool screenshots that will make you want to try it |

| I'm glad you liked it, WWL. If I ever get some time, I'd like to make a player's guide for this game in the style of the official Link to the Past one. Since I ditched my Mother 3 guide, I've been itching to make a guide. |

| LttP suffer the "Chrono Trigger" phenomenon with me...
I had never played LttP back in the day because I didn't have an SNES back then, but the game got alot of buzz, so once I had finally bought an SNES back in the early year 2002, & it got a GBA Port, I started asking around about it.
Unfortunately, the answers I got were misleading...
"itz teh best gaem on snes!111"
"itz beddur than OoT!11"
"itz teh best gaem EVAR!!1"
I never got even 1 answer that was like that... So, I got excited and bought a brand new copy of the GBA Version from Gamestop.
I started playing fully expecting it to be better than all the other Zelda games before it, (including my favorite, OoT) but after playing through it, I was left disappointed... Not only was LttP not anywhere near as good as OoT, but the only Zelda games that it actually was better than were the NES ones!
No, I kid you not, I felt that all 3 GB Zelda games were infinitely better as well.
The real problem was Rabid Fanboyism & Nostalgia, had I had been told the truth about LttP, "It's a good Zelda game, but don't expect OoT." or "It's really fun, and tells a good story." then I wouldn't have been so let down.
Also, is it just that it was gimped when ported to the GBA, or was the music always that poor? Zelda has always had good music, but LttP sounded bad IMO...

| Oh no you don't! *drags Mage back in* Personally, I like the 2D Zeldas better than the 3Ds. The GameBoy Advance ports of Super Nintendo games are notorious for the bad music quality. (Although this game didn't suffer nearly as much as EarthBound did) What I really like about this game is that there are lots of different ways to do things and you can pretty much do them in any order you want. In most Zelda games, each item has a specific use in a specific location. In Link to the Past, most of the items ca be useful anywhere. Even the shovel comes in handy when you lack items and it's a temporary one. Apparently the Ice Place got altered to make it easier in the GBA version, but I didn't notice anything. Granted, I've only played through the GBA one once. The Four Swords palace was disappointing, too. It was very straight forward and the bosses were very easy. Even Shadow Link was a joke with the Cane of Byrna. I still don't see what the big appeal of Ocarina of Time is. It was fun, but I dunno...meh. I dunno if it is the best on the Super Nintendo, but I'd say it's definitely up there. My 10 favorites for SNES in no particular order. Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets Kirby Super Star Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Final Fantasty II (4 in Japan) EarthBound Super Mario All-Stars Super Mario Kart SNES was a damn good system. |

| Ocarina of Time was one of the best games I've ever played!
Right up there with FFIX, A Boy And His Blob, and Bioshock.
But whatever, everybody has their own opinions on games. |

I love the GB games!
also, heres my "formula"
if someone plays OoT first, they will find LttP overrated and aged.
if someone plays LttP first, they will find OoT a clone and boring. |
