Great game, little tedious and a bit of grinding but great.

Originally cause of graphics but I'm wanting to paly it since I've beaten both EarthBound and Mother 3. But I can't seem to find a copy of it that isn't a fake.

I didn't like EB0. I didn't expect to walk out of my house at the begining of the game and die in my first battle. :/

It was almost a chore to beat the game. Easy patches are for whimps

There is no english copy, the only way to play it is to pirate.

Or you could save up a while and blow a few thousand the next time a proto pops up on ebay in a couple of years!

For an NES game (and an RPG, no less), Earth Bound has aged very well. The music is catchy, the world is huge and more open-ended than many of today's RPGs, and you can not only run, but walk in an angle! Things like Pokemon and 2D Final Fantasies still haven't adopted.

Enemies are detailed, and the characters are charming.

Compare NES MOTHER to NES Final Fantasy. MOTHER has much more charm and appeal. Instead of getting generic wizard and knight, we have Ninten, a little boy with a backstory and his friends.

It certainly is aged, but it is by no means unenjoyably. It is hard, though. Especially at the beginning before you have a second party member and your weapon sucks. The word of advice I always give to new players is run away from battles and get Pippi as soon as you can. User her to help level Ninten up because she kicks ass as a fighter. In turn, Ninten will help Loid level up, so on and so forth.
