I don't know if Mother 2 is going to get an update. That stuff is on the level of Mother 3 for hacking. But hey man, now you guys have no excuse to not at least try out Mother 1 because of the easy ring.

The encounter rate is dropped some apparently. Although sometimes it can still screw with you. I'm at the factory right now about to go through it for the 15th time or so (I've beat Mother 1 more than a few times).

so what are the advantages to playing mother 1+2 other than using mother 1 and mother 2 other than the fact that they are on seperate consoles, and that mother 1+2 is on one?

You don't even need that. The easy ring gives more slightly more defense than the goddess band (magic ring in EB0). The fact that it takes so little time might be an issue though, I find myself avoiding fights right now for example because I don't want to be so high leveled ATM.

Granted Mother 1 has issues still even with this patch. The lack of Escargo Express still hurts the game a lot IMO.The lack of that is the real reason I hate Duncan factory as well.
