Welp, it's that time of year again! It's about this time we smile at each other and think, "it's that time of year again." It's also about this time that Wal-Mart gives you a wink and you think, "Oh God, it's that time of year again."

Suffice it to say that it is in fact that time of year again. Less than 20 days til Christmas, folks! And if you don't celebrate Christmas, well... think of this as Lumine Hall-mas or something. This year we decided something was to happen, so we're going to be doing something a little different.

So! The short of what we are doing is this: you, the collective member of Lumine Hall, will be assigned another member's name. From when we start til the day this ends, you are to stalk this person, take into consideration what you think to be their role on the board, and make a fantastic visual sig that embodies that person. You don't need to be altogether artistic; you could just find a pic on the Net and edit it in such a way that personalizes it for this person if you so chose.

We won't have too many rules, but DO keep it within the outline of this space:

If you make it inappropriate and adorn it with inappropriate objects doing inappropriate things, the receiver might be angry with you and not wear it, and you will be frowned upon.

Put effort into it! I don't want a blank white space adorned with my name in black size 12 serifed font! Neither do you. Give as you would receive or better, as they should say.

As a receiver, when you see your gift, you don't have to wear it, but you might be frowned upon if you don't. On the same note, "this sucks" or "is this it?" are not really Holiday cheery things to say.

Et cetera.


So what will happen is that you will sign here as to whether you are participating. I will take the names of all those who are on the 11th (this Saturday) and randomize them for a secret list on which your name will placed next to another. Upon the creation of this list, I will PM you the name yours magically materialized adjacent to. The tentative date for the reveal will be the 27th. Hopefully nobody who participates has any plans, but if they do, we can change it to a later or sooner date depending on need. On the reveal date, I will post another topic where you will post your lovingly-made creation, and we will rejoice and eat lots of cranberry sauce.

The list will be secret until that day. In the between time, you are to keep your draw a secret and wonder who is as you sleep hiding in the tree outside your window.

How do you make a picture just that size? And will, like, paint work? I don't have any other fancy art tool/Photoshop.

Yep! Paint will work. There's a resize option, and it asks you how wide and how long you want the canvas/image size to be in pixel units. Another way you could do it is take the image I posted as it is the correct size, and erase the canvas completely.

Paint.NET is a free pseudo-Photoshop with less features, but it's a heluva lot less headache to tinker with than Paint. I highly recommend it.
