| Yes, I know I said in my other blog that I might do a cave Story blog only if I can't do RO for a while, and I found a link to install RO's free server. thus I can play it. But even though I'm enjoying RO, I thought about doing this anyway for the sake of it. Soon, I will blog EVERY game I play! :evillaugh:
*Ahem* So, I've already beaten Cave Story on Normal mode, so if I want a challenge I'll need to play on Hard Mode. I'm also trying to get the best ending, since I got the 'meh' one last time I played it (I had no idea you could save Curly until watching Youtube). So lesee here... we have Kazuma IMing with Sue inside his locked room for a few minutes, spamming the screen with complaints for many presses of the '2' button (Yes, I'm playing it on Wiiware. Thank God I can set options to the original music, they RUINED the main theme in the remake). Eventually, we wind up in the First Cave, and... huh? Where's Quote? The only character sprite I see on screen is a guy with an actual human skin tone, blonde hair, and blue clothing. This guy isn't Quote, is he? Ah well, maybe this is just because this is Hard Mode (But I like Quote's sprite better). So I save my game instantly and go out the door and into the real cave. I jump over and beneath some instant death spikes, but they'll be less of a threat when I get that- huh? Where's the Life Capsule? Well, this is Hard Mode, so that makes sense. With only 3 HP max, I jump over bats and jumping things and steal borrow the Polar Star from the gunsmith. Then Kazuma complains more about Sue being AFK and I jab the 2 button some more (Since I've already done this) and I shoot the bats and jumping things from before. I shoot the door with the eye and go inside. Then Kazuma complains about his hunger, jokes that he ate a cockroach, and says if he gets to that point he'll do it. Then we enter the village the rabbit-things called the Mimiga call home, where Kiing pressures Toroko to give up a key. Not-Quote falls and accidentally gives Toroko a chance to escape. Now for the OTHER Life Capsule, the one underwater at Yamashita Fa- What? Not one here too? Don't tell me that there's NO Life Capsules in Hard Mode?!? I can't fight the Undead Core with only 3 HP! Nah... I'm sure there'll be some in this mode. I get the Silver Locket, 1HKO Toroko, and fight Balrog after Misery takes away the wrong Mimiga (Why do they want Sue so badly anyway? I guess I'll find out sometime during the Good Ending extra scenes). I get the extra weapon EXP Balrog drops and I save the game. I go up and tell Jack that Toroko is kidnapped, and I gotta read the enclosed instruction book to learn how to save her only I know the instructions already (This would be funnier if I knew how to make Youtube vids). I shoot mushrooms in the graveyard and commit grave robbery, Arthur's Key being the pay from said crime. I save again inside Arthur's House and this is where I turned off the power for the day. |

| Apparently people care about Cave Story less than Ragnarok Online. But whatever, I'm continuing this anyway.
So I played more of the game on Hard Mode. Quote-Recolor found the unoccupied computer monitor with a message- "Kazuma- but just so you know, if I get to that point I'll do it" and the option to set the teleporter to Egg Corridor. You know where I warp to now. So I wind up in a long corridor filled with eggs and- hey, didn't a Life Capsule used to be there below where I warp in? *Gasp* Oh no... I think there really ARE no LCs in Hard Mode! Well, I said I'd blog Hard Mode, not normal again, so no going back now. I shoot elephants, jumping things, and... I think some kinds of failed dragon hatchlings or something. I make it all the way to Cthulu's abode, and we learn (Again) that the protagonist has amnesia and that his batteries can run out. Already knowing what the heck the latter means, I move on and shoot more things. I died somewhere, I'm pretty sure it was between Cthulu's Abode and the place with the monitors. I get the ID from Egg 06 and save inside the monitor room. In said monitor room, we learn that the eggs are Flying Dragon Eggs. Apparently, this answers that one village Mimiga's question if there are dragons who fly in the sky. Also, there's a bed with red flower petals scattered about it. If you've played Cave Story, you know what that REALLY means, but for now just pretend that a Mimiga's blood pressure skyrocketed and the guy there died instantly, even though Sue getting dragged away by a rabid, sterioded Mimiga says otherwise. Speaking of which, I shoot more things with my Polar Star and- wait, wasn't I supposed to get the Missle Launcher from that monitor room? There's not one of those in this mode either?!? *Gasp again* No wonder this is hard mode... as I was saying, and then I find the forementioned overgrown rabbit thing. Igor is much harder knowing I have only 3 HP and no missles, so I shoot him rapidly with the Polar Star's LV 3 shots from a distance. I basically just shoot him and occasionally jump over him, and I get at a distance when he shoots things out of his mouth. I think I could just get behind him then, but I never thought about that. Eventually, Igor died and turns back to nomal just in time for his funeral. I try to go inside the Side Room, but its locked until I help Sue, who claims she could take on a creature several times her size completely unarmed with no abilities whatsoever. She says she hates everything on the island and offers to help me escape, but I have to help her brother Kazuma first. Kazuma? Hm, didn't I hear that name a million times already? Meh, I don't think so. I save in the Side Room, make my way to the Monitor room, save again, and turn stuff off for the time being. |

| That's strange since a good handful of people here love this game. I myself only tried it out and just got past the egg room >_> |

You read my post from my new thread? Anyway, I'll have to exit the Bushlands via the teleporter first, but I can get the Bubbline and come back for Balfrog. Thanks for the tip. |
