I'm starting to get really annoyed & depressed by today's generation of gamers...
Maybe it's just because I didn't have the internet in my house until 1996, but fanboyism in my generation seemed much quieter and far less annoying.
These days, it's terribly terribly bad...
It seems whenever a console gets an exclusive game that everyone wants, massive, neverending bitching ensues.
In this case, I'm speaking of Monster Hunter 3. The PS3 Version was canceled years ago, yet the fanboys are still whining, and insist on coming to the MH3 Wii boards and bitching about it.
Now, maybe it's just because I didn't eat paint chips & drink Windex as a kid, but when a game I want comes out on a system I don't own or just don't like comes out I just accept it, and hope that it one day gets ported. But today's gamers seem to think it's a more productive use of time to go to the game's message board, and make idiotic posts about how it would've been better/sold more copies on their console of choice.
I don't fucking care if MH3 would've been better or sold better on PS3, it's on the Wii, I intend to play it, shut the fuck up!
See, I own all 3 consoles, so I can play everything. Gaming is a hobby to me, not an Olympic Sport that I must choose a favorite team for and refuse all others.
Sure, I have my preferences, but I don't really give a damn what console a game appears on because I can play it no matter what, and since I'm not a Graphics Whore, I don't bitch when a game appears on Wii rather that the more powerful PS3 or Xbox 360.
The only time when I'm even slightly disappointed by an exclusive is when it's only for Xbox 360 because I don't like spending $60 on a game for a console with such a high rate of hardware failure. (No offense, I just grew up in an era of gaming where consoles were made to a higher standard of quality that still work perfectly to this day, so a console that breaks down as often as 360 is boarderline unacceptable to me.) Or to be more precise, it's not exclusives that bother me on Xbox 360, I'll be preordering Fable 3 as soon as it's available for preorder. It's excusives that bother me... No, that's not a typo, I mean exclusives like Left 4 Dead & Mass Effect 2, where there's really no reason why they have to be 360 Exclusive, they're bound by no contract and could easily be ported to PS3, yet aren't for some reason.
But whatever, no big deal, the disappointment only lasts a moment, then I decide I'll just buy them used at a later time.
I really want to play Mass Effect 2, but you won't see me on the ME2 Boards all day bitching about how the game isn't on PS3, I accept the fact that the developer's chose to make the game an exclusive, and will buy it at a later date when the game reaches a price that I'm more comfortable spending on it.
Yet the idiot PS3 Fanboys on the MH3 board won't shut the hell up about how much better the game would be on PS3 and how much better it would sell. News Flash, asshole! It doesn't matter how much better it would sell because it isn't going to happen! So either shut the hell up and buy the Goddamn Wii Version, or get the fuck out.
Me and the other people who don't care that it's on Wii instead of PS3 are trying to discuss the game, and your useless posts are getting in the way.
I'd say that I wish that MH3 was Multiplatform, but then the exact same idiots would come to the MH3 Wii Board to brag about how much better the PS360 Version will be...
It's this sort of crowd that makes me ashamed to be called a gamer, because I don't want to be categorized the same as them.
I'm not a whiny-ass, immature loser who has nothing better to do but to go on boards of games that aren't on my favorite console and troll/complain all day long.
Again, gaming is just a hobby to me, not an Olympic Sport or a lifestyle...
I have a life outside of this hobby, and if the gaming industry were to collapse, (God Forbid) I wouldn't lose all sense of direction in my life or have a nervous breakdown, I'd just find another means of entertainment with which to spend my free time on.
Oh well, hopefully after MH3 comes out the boards will be too busy for the few obnoxious baww topics to be noticeable.
